As I had no idea what happened in Sense and Sensibility before reading it I had no idea that he would become a central character. Now, before all of your Jane-ites get on my case for being unromantic or whatever, let me say only that unfortuantely, I read "Persuasion," Austen's last novel, and found it to be one of the best books I've ever read. I also noticed that Elinor judged women by their intelligence which was interesting. Some of the final questions go further and call the reader to view specific themes and characters in the light of scripture. Marianne, the middle daughter, is lively, outgoing and frank, always thinking her own opinions above those of others and striving to live her own happy life to the full, displaying and entrusting in her own exuberant emotions. I loved all the emotion and melodrama. Some of the men in Sense and Sensibility are sportsmen, so it is mentioned that they have guns and hunt.
It was quite obvious what type of person he was and you could predict his behaviour but there were surprises too and I think he got the life that he deserved in the end. Am I even befitting to write a review on such a literary excellence? Once I’ve read Pride and Prejudice I will rank the main Jane Austen books or I may do it at the end of the year.

It would perhaps be more accurate to say that it was not Austen’s purpose in writing. I thought Elinor would end with Colonel Brandon.

There was the younger sister Margaret too who was hardly mentioned and I often forgot that she existed. I see no harm only benefits in reading a book.
