Ygor takes Wolf to the comatose body of the monster (Boris Karloff) his father created and the son decides to follow in his father's footsteps by reviving the creature. The job of welding fantasy and everyday into one whole falls mainly upon Basil Rathbone, as Frankenstein; and he does it magnificently.
Boris Karloff's final appearance as the Monster is a fitting farewell before the series descended into self-parody. The Monster has smoother facial features and Boris plays him masterfully, with pathos and tenderness, although he kills several people of insignificant stature, but never the nanny, wife or child.
