More than that, even though Spacey is basically the bad guy, you get pleasure from the ending because previously he had been the target of ridicule/pity (and Palminteri's condescending ranting).
I accepted their explanation and it wasn't until verbal is walking away that I realized I had beef conned. In a weird way it's like the underdog winning (even though he's clearly not the underdog). As for the testimony of the burn victim in hospital, and the sketch of Verbal's face: we've already established that Verbal was there, and we don't know that the burned guy was actually in a position to positively identify him as Söze. Some will have you laughing while others will give you the chills. Kujan questions why Verbal didn't shoot Soze and save his friend. But outright telling a story that's not true at all? We know at least some of the events we're told happened in some form or another we just don't know if all of them did and how much of the stuff Spacey tells is what actually happened or is his version of what happened.

I think the ending has two different things happen : The first of these isn't (for my money anyway) a twist, it's a reveal. Movie endings, they're usually pretty straight forward right?
