Havens, aged 81 years, one of the best and most widely known residents of Jackson county, died from a stroke of appoplexy at 6 o'clock Wednesday night at Gautier, Miss, across the river from this city. He died Monday afternoon at 2:40 o'clock and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and interment made in the cemetery at Pascagoula. Dead - Captain C. L. Lumsdane the gallant commander of Lumsden's celebrated Battery of Artillery, from Alabama, was recently crushed to death in the machinery of his Mills, near Pascagoula.
