Farmer Wilbur Tennant (Bill Camp), a friend of Bilott’s gramdma and a Parkersburg resident, pays a visit to the offices of Taft Stettinius & Hollister.
They’re all terrific in their parts, even as Hathaway suffers through a thoroughly underwritten role as The Wife of The Hero. It’s not as showy of a performance as his HBO dual turn, but there’s grace in his subtle bullheadedness on display here. Fully leaning on his hangdog mannerisms he’s perfected over the years, Ruffalo is likable, charming, and wholly believable as a modern-day crusader for justice. The EPA, drawing from Bilott’s research, also launched their own investigation into PFOA and determined that it posed risks to anyone exposed to it. But the onus of the movie, rightly so, is on DuPont’s maddening wrongdoing, and the impact on its victims.

Made with the best intentions, Aaron Sorkin's courtroom drama is hampered by distracting fiction that detracts from the timely message. Robert Bilott, on the other hand, is one of the good ones.
The movie is already being tipped to crash this year’s Oscars and certainly looks like something that will appeal to the Academy. DuPont obliged, but Bilott’s crusade was far from over.
Upon arriving at the Tennant farm, Wilbur reveals that 190 of his cows have died off from strange medical conditions, and autopsies revealed tumors, blackened teeth, and bloated organs.

While elements of the film play out like a horror film (an animal attack could be straight from Stephen King), much of it presented like a 1970s conspiracy thriller in the style of ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN. ⭐️⭐️ HBO's latest prestige drama is handsomely made, well-acted, and utterly dull in depicting a mystery that never gets off the ground.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambitious to a fault, ARY AND THE SECRET OF THE SEASONS proves that sometimes good intentions are enough to enchant. But the 2019 Todd Haynes-directed “Dark Waters” is an alarming, thought-provoking based-on-a-true-story movie. His story is also the subject of Dark Waters, the upcoming Todd Haynes movie starring Mark Ruffalo as the environmentally-conscious lawyer and depicting the case that propelled him to fame. But fans of multilayered murder ballads will be in heaven.
