When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground. All of a sudden, the table read – and it’s just the three of us – starts to turn into a pretty intense rehearsal, to ensure the moments land correctly. That's exactly how I described this flick to my friends.

As for the grindhouse of it all...while the effects were certainly sloppy and more accustomed to a 1970's or 1980's zombie flick, the brutality of it all was on full display. Checking the IMDb credits and there’s a good handful from brawl in Cell Block 99. In which case you might go through a couple more takes before finding the right stuff. Also, if you've seen his first movie (Bone Tomahawk) you'll see a very big improvement - which is not to say that Bone Tomahawk was not super great in it's own right.
